The Benefit Bank of Pennsylvania has been serving people in the state since 2006. Today, there is a growing network of sites in Southeastern PA and in Western PA, and we continue to engage with new communities helping organizations to bring up sites throughout the Commonwealth.
The Benefit Bank online service was selected as the benefit access tool for the six community-based centers, known as BenePhilly Centers, which opened in Philadelphia in 2014. These centers are a key component of Shared Prosperity Philadelphia, Philadelphia’s anti-poverty initiative that emphasizes expanding access to public benefits and essential services.

TRAINING in Pennsylvania
In-person trainings in Pennsylvania are held in the Philadelphia area.

Minimum Enrollment Required
A minimum of 8 attendees is required for each class. Registration deadline is one week prior to scheduled training date. Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment will be canceled. You will be notified by email of any changes to the schedule. We can expand the number of trainees we accommodate if participants bring their own laptop. When you enroll, let us know if you can provide your own computer.
Closure Information Due to Inclement Weather
If The School District of Philadelphia has closed on a week day due to inclement weather, The Benefit Bank training is also canceled. If this should occur, you may tune into KYW Radio (1060 AM) and listen for the closing number 100 for schools in the Philadelphia system. If the School District of Philadelphia has a 2 hour delay, The Benefit Bank training will begin at 10:00 a.m. Check your e-mail for information regarding the cancellation of training due to inclement weather.

The Pennsylvania Benefits Training will give counselors the skills needed to assist clients in applying for SNAP, Medical Benefits, Cash Assistance, Property Tax and Rent Rebates, PACE/PACENET, and LIHEAP.

Topic: FEDERAL and PA TAXES
The Pennsylvania Tax Training will give counselors the skills needed to assist clients in filing their 2014 federal and state tax returns. The course covers basic tax principles and helps to explain concepts such as filing status, tax deductions and credits.
Our in-person tax training classes have concluded for the 2014 filing season. Returning tax counselors may complete the Update Training, located on the training tab of the counselor portal.

Take the Broad Street subway line to Lombard/South station or the #4, 27, or 32 Bus to the corner of Broad and Bainbridge Streets.
Parking lots are on Broad Street north of Lombard and also on the 1500 block of South Street. There is no parking available at the Solutions for Progress office and little street parking available in the immediate vicinity. If you do find street parking be sure to check for posted time limits!
